What is Auto Assault ?

Emerging from the ashes of civilization to claim the Earth as their own, three playable races vie for supremacy: Humans, Mutants and Biomeks. Each race will battle to the last to claim their place as rulers of the new Earth.
Relentless combat and tactics integrate with fully customizable vehicles - from cars to semis, trucks to tanks in a striking new element of online gaming: a completely destructible environment . Everything - buildings, vehicles, entire towns - can be blasted and smashed into rubble with the spectacular power of the Havok physics engine.
How will Auto Assault differ from other massively multiplayer online games?
Above all else, Auto Assault has been designed to be fast and to be fun. Auto Assault provides all the role-playing mainstays that you demand: immense character variation, crafting to the point of specialization, and convoy tactics relying on the planned strengths and weaknesses of vehicle types, technologies, and race characteristics. But, Auto Assault also features game-play elements that are unique to the massively multiplayer genre: an interactive, destructible world; a very distinct development commitment to the ideal of "level while playing, not playing to level"; integrated voice communication for heat-of-battle chat and a promise to get you into the action - where your friends are - fast . There's definitely no running miles to your next quest in this game. Auto Assault also contains an immersed RPG layer where players can look forward to long-term character development for various attributes and skills.
Who is developing Auto Assault?
NetDevil, based just outside of Boulder, Colorado, is developing Auto Assault . Founded in 1997, NetDevil is committed to creating immersive, interactive virtual worlds in unique settings outside the typical fantasy genre. Jumpgate , the studio's first massively multiplayer online game (MMOG), brought them to the attention of MMOG fans worldwide - and to NCsoft, who will be publishing Auto Assault.
When will Auto Assault be released?
NetDevil and NCsoft currently plan to release Auto Assault late 2005. In the mean time, look out for the pre-order pack to get access to some fabulous offers that will leave other gamers eating your dust.
How and where will Auto Assault be distributed?
Auto Assault 's distribution will be through all major retailers as a boxed version. An internet connection will be required to play.
Will there be a monthly fee associated with Auto Assault?
Yes, a monthly fee will be required in order to play. We have not yet announced the amount or specifics of this monthly fee.
Will I need a PlayNC account to play?
Yes, a PlayNC account is required. While the PlayNC accounts themselves are free, they contain billing, serial code, and other important information as it pertains to Auto Assault or other games available from NCsoft. See the PlayNC website for more information.
What is the policy regarding character names for Auto Assault?
NCsoft has an across-the-board policy regarding names that is applicable to all of the games it publishes. Auto Assault will also observe these guidelines, as well as the other standard policies in place for games in the NCsoft family. Beta testing has officially started and batches of applicants are added each week. Those that wish to participate can still sign up at the official site - applicants must be 18 years or older and possess a PlayNC account.
What alternate input devices (joysticks, steering wheels, etc.) will Auto Assault support?
In additional to the conventional mouse and keyboard combination familiar to most gamers, Auto Assault will also incorporate the option for players to use most modern gaming peripherals like joysticks, gamepads, steering wheels, and other directional gaming peripherals.
